Broken/NS102:Mainurl
See all Organizations and their Main url's.
Do I just put any old url?
No. The main url is the overarching url in which all resources are housed. For example, the main url for the Open Society Institute is: http://www.soros.org/, even if the site you stumbled across initially was http://www.soros.org/resources. In this case, you can put the latter into the Resource url field, since this url takes you directly to some of the resources on the site.
What if I want to link to a specific project or resource housed in a larger organization? Do I still have to put the overarching url?
No. If you are highlighting a specific project, try to put the url that links directly to it. For example, NASA has various projects associated with it. In these cases, we put the project url's and not http://nasa.gov. It would be pointless to put this as a main url as NASA houses hundreds of projects and resources. When in doubt, think about what would be most helpful in identifying a resource.
