Ways to Encourage Participation (from VS)
Some things that I determined is that mixter folks LOVE the following:
1. Contests -- submissions not only rose significantly in quality, but quantity -- about 4x submissions during contests
2. Streaming -- people love to hear stuff. Makes sense, mixter is music remix site
3. Samples -- people love to listen to loops and samples
4. Tags - tags, tags, tags. People navigate the site via tags, rarely search.
